Rumours are circulating that Facebook’s planned ‘awesome’ product announcement could be video chat.
Excitement and rumours have been swirling ever since founder Mark Zuckerberg first mentioned the announcement last week – presumably to take some of the attention away from headline grabbing new competitor, Google+.
The most prominent of all rumours is thought to be implementing audio and video chat into Facebook, either by integration with Microsoft’s new acquisition Skype, or through technology of its own – Google+ already has video chat capabilities built in.
The announcement is due to be broadcast live from Facebook, at 6pm UK time, and so far over 94,000 people have signed up to see whether the predictions are correct and Facebook becomes a truly complete social communication tool.
