Google Keyword Planner replaces Keyword Tool
Google Keyword Planner has recently replaced the popular Adword Keyword Tool
Google have combined the functionality of their keyword tool and traffic estimator in order to make it easier to plan your search campaigns. The improved platform will allow you to find new keyword ideas and implement a more strategic search campaign.
Various things have changed within the tool such as no match type data for search volume, no device targeting AND local and global monthly has been merged into “Average monthly searches”.
These changes are not only designed to “put everything under one roof” so to speak, but also to streamline the whole keyword targeting procedure, and make everything a lot easier for the searcher, business owner, or web master. Choosing the correct keywords to target is one of the very first, yet most important stages of any online marketing campaign – target the wrong keywords and you may well end up wasting months and getting nowhere, or getting yourself ranking highly for a term which is irrelevant to your website and in turn does not convert any of your traffic into sales.
On the face of things, this transition seems to be very much a positive thing, as it will end any confusion when it comes to keyword selection, and also allow us to get a much better idea of what is and what isn’t going to work when it comes to choosing keywords for any online marketing campaign we carry out.
