🔍 AI Search Optimisation

Get recommended when customers ask an AI

A growing share of buying decisions now start with a question to ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity rather than a Google search.

Those systems recommend a handful of businesses. AEO is the work of becoming one of them.

🔍 The difference

How AEO differs from SEO

SEO gets you a position in a list of links. AEO gets you named inside an answer. They overlap — both reward genuine authority — but the mechanics differ in ways that matter.

🔧 The work

What we actually do

01

Make your pages quotable

AI systems lift specific, attributable facts. “Contact us for a quote” is not a fact.

02

Fix your entity

One consistent name, address and phone number everywhere, correct structured data, every profile pointing at the same business.

03

Publish machine-readable summaries

An llms.txt file and correct schema so AI crawlers get a clean answer about who you are and what you charge.

04

Build third-party mentions

AI answers are assembled largely from pages that are not yours. This is most of the work.

05

Track it monthly

Around thirty prompts across five engines, logged so you can see whether you are named, ranked or ignored.

Reporting

You get the raw log, not just a score.

👀 Proof

We are doing this to our own website

In August 2026 we searched for a service we provide in our own town and found a newer competitor ranked above us, while we were only mentioned in passing in the AI summary. So we rebuilt our own approach from the ground up: published our prices, restructured our location pages, shipped an llms.txt, cleaned up two decades of thin content and started tracking prompts monthly.

You are reading part of that work. We would rather show you a live example than a case study about somebody else, and we are happy to walk you through exactly what we changed and what it did.

What we cannot promise

Nobody can guarantee a citation in an AI answer, and anyone who does is guessing. There is no ranking dashboard, no submission process and no support desk at OpenAI. What we can do is make your business the easiest correct answer to find, verify and quote — and measure honestly whether it is working.

Frequently asked questions

Is AEO replacing SEO?

No. Traditional search still drives the majority of enquiries for most local businesses. AEO is an additional channel that is growing quickly. Most clients run both, which is why we offer them combined at £199 + VAT per month.

How long before we see results?

Entity and schema work can show up in AI answers within weeks. Third-party mentions, which do most of the heavy lifting, take months. Treat it like SEO: a compounding investment, not a switch.

Do we have to publish our prices?

Not technically, but it is the single biggest factor we see. Models cite specifics. A page saying “from £299 + VAT” is quotable in a way that “competitive rates” never will be. We will make the case, but it is your call.

How do you measure it?

A fixed set of around thirty prompts run monthly across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, recording whether you are named, where, and alongside whom.

Can you do this alongside our current SEO agency?

Yes, and it often works well. We handle the AEO layer and coordinate so we are not pulling the same pages in two directions.

Olly has great work ethics and is a pretty good sales man. His prices are spot on for a small business like mine and the work he’s done on the SEO is flawless.
